(ex: UT) cannot punish employees or
students for lawfully transporting and storing firearms and ammunition in their
private cars on the institution’s property if:
The car is somewhere it is allowed to be,
and the firearm or ammunition is kept from view if the owner is in the car or
is kept from view and is locked in a container or glove box while the owner is
not in the vehicle.
Permit holders still cannot carry on
school grounds, buildings, or property.
Violating this is a Class B misdemeanor.
Keeping in car is an extension of castle doctrine.
